The Sierra Leone Local Content Agency is a specialized semi-autonomous agency of the government of Sierra Leone charge with the responsibility to implement the Local Content Agency Act 2016. The agency and government’s key priority and strategic focus is skills development and strengthening the capacity of local enterprise and its citizens for the enhancement of livelihood as formulated by the government of Sierra Leone’s medium term National development Plan of 2019 – 2023.

   UPCOMING EVENT/NEWS AND UPDATE

 

As part of its capacity building programme, the department of supplier and market development will be having its first set of Skills Enhancement Trainings for local entrepreneurs across the country from July 13th to 16th 2020.

Participants will be drawn from local businesses across different sectors of the economy in order to increase productivity and competitiveness of locally made products, and subsequently promote the made in Sierra Leone concept.

The trainings will be conducted at regional level, starting with Kenema for the eastern region, then Bo for the southern region, Makeni for the northern region and finally PortLoko for the north-west region. 

The theme of the training is “Improving your Exhibition and Marketing Skills (IYEMS)”. some of the topics include importance of marketing, communication skills, value addition, quality standards etc.

   Local Content Portal Manager 

The LCA Portal Manager will be responsible for the Online Platform, LCPR that is being used by companies to report Local Content performance across procurement, workforce and capacity development, and to generate the Local Content Scorecard as stipulated by the 2016 Local Content Agency Act.
